Description of the role We are looking for someone to be a strategic driver of the Investec for Intermediary business in Gauteng. This individual will take full responsibility for co-creating, leading and executing the national and regional business strategies. This includes developing, driving and directing sales and client service partnering with, marketing and operations within regional teams. This individual will also identify opportunities to market IFI's multiproduct value proposition to targeted clients in the financial advisory space, thereby delivering on business strategy. We are looking for a strategic thinker, and leader to actively contribute to the growth of a team of experienced sales consultants and look to deliberately grow the IFI business in turn. This individual will be a participating member in the IFI Leadership Team.The ResultSales Management• The strategic planning and managing of the team budgets and deliverables• Accountable for personal and team acquisition and growth budgets• Identify key market sectors and build campaigns around their requirements• Building partnerships with existing clients • Cooperate and collaborate with the other Specialist Bank divisions in the identification of opportunities and associations• Collaborate with purpose within the Investec Group in order to constantly capture and leverage opportunities for clients within other divisions • Implement strategic marketing plans to maintain and build existing client relationships and attract new clients • Network and attend client and industry events and functions as and when required • Contribute to the growth and strategy of the regional IFI business • Ensuring that we are growing the Investec for Intermediaries market share and top line revenue through leading the Sales Consultants through client retention, acquisition and most importantly by optimizing the product set of existing clients, achieved through entrenching Investec for Intermediaries as a partner for growth, customizing and articulating the value proposition of the Investec for Intermediaries offering to the potential or existing client. • The Sales Consultants are responsible for the distribution of the IFI core products with a focus on Cash, Life and Fx products, and support to Structured Products & Bespoke Investments, as well as retaining clients, which includes providing service and feedback to entire existing base of clients Risk Management• Understand risks associated with the IFI business and identify and implement processes to mitigate these• Managing workflow processes • Awareness of the management of compliance and regulatory framework within the team CRM• Ongoing assessment of client segmentation• Marketing events driven from individual team strategy• Manage and resolve escalated queries/complaints People Management• Translate IFI strategy to create clear vision and direction for the regional team• Identify future resourcing requirements and proactively initiate the sourcing of these staff• Ensure effective integration and on-boarding of new staff and the coaching and mentoring of all staff in the team • Identify and enable individual and team specific training, development and skills requirementsExperience, skill, and capability• Relevant Tertiary qualification • Minimum 7+ years financial services experience ideally in the investment industry with a solid understanding of LISPS/Manco's, Forex and structured products • Proven client service and sales track record • Balance sheet, and income statement knowledge• Understanding of global markets as well as the domestic and international socio-economic and political landscape• In-depth knowledge and understanding of the functioning of cash investment products, forex and structured products • Leadership experience essential At Investec we look for dynamic, energetic people filled with tenacity, integrity and out of the ordinary thinking.We value individuals who in turn value our that is, a can-do attitude while challenging convention.Diversity, competency, and flexible leadership are respected in pursuit of the growth of our business.
